Have you heard of PlanTruth? It’s the first and only health care consumer review website.
PlanTruth launched early this year in New York by a Brooklyn cardiologist who saw a hole in the marketplace. There wasn’t really one place for consumers to help other consumers pick the right health care plan.
The company currently focuses on New York State plans, but they have an active Kickstarter campaign to raise $10,000 that will end on May 3rd. Who knows? Maybe their growth will soon reach Tennessee! CEO Vladimir Fridman says, “we are planning to grow and become the number one source of ratings and information for health insurance plans in the entire United States!”
The platform is free to use – all you have to do is pick a plan and read what consumers have to say about it, and leave your own reviews if you feel compelled to do so. The site is free of politics and persuasions, it’s all about consumers being honest and helping each other.
The PlanTruth website also has a section that defines basic types of health insurance plans, saving you a trip to your favorite search engine. They include information about commercial/private plans, the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare, Medicare and Medicaid, FIDA (Fully-Integrated Duals Advantage), SNPs (Special Needs Plans), and Tricare for military members and their families. PlanTruth is for all consumers. They also have a glossary that defines terms like “co-insurance” and “deductible” for those entering the market for the first time.
If PlanTruth takes off, it can become one of the most useful tools out there when it comes to purchasing insurance. Take it from Yelp and Angie’s List – reviews help everybody, consumers and businesses alike.
